About Us

BaySave is a New Jersey non-profit corporation engaged in wetland restoration projects, shoreline stabilization, aquaculture research, education and development and advocacy for these focused interests at the Delaware Bay. BaySave is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charity and as a New Jersey charity. BaySave was formed in 2008 by environmental activist Tony Novak and is now directed by a group of volunteers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware who are joined by occasional project volunteers. The original mission was oyster reef restoration but the federal and state government limits such activity after 2010. In 2013 the focus changed to focus on research and development of sustainable aquaculture techniques as a pathway to physical stability of the shoreline and to balance the needs of the stakeholders and users of the waterway. Our mission continues to evolve s new information emerges to focus on sustainability of the region; both from an environmental and economic perspective. Please let us know if you have an interest in getting involved.
