Baysave is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2010 that is registered as a New Jersey charity. Our mission is to harness and coordinate community resources to combat environmental justice issues, especially those affecting Money Island NJ. We know that sustainability is possible and that climate change will process with or without intelligent human response.

Baysave is committed to a balanced approach addressing the needs of all the diverse stakeholders: public, private, government, industry, nonprofit, individual and corporate, environmentalists and commercial watermen. While the interests of these groups vary widely and often conflict, we focus on areas where we can build consensus.

Money Island NJ is a small remote and rural seafood landing port on the Delaware Bay that has become a national flash point in the struggle for environmental justice. The book “The Downing of Money Island” explains the background.

Looking forward, we embrace a future that includes a lot of water, disinterest and bad or incompetent acts by government, and an increasingly awakened and aware public that demands fair treatment and access to its public bayshore resources.
